The City of Atlanta is an opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, sex, age, religion or sexual orientation. Applications are processed on a first come first served basis, and appointments are made at the discretion of the Fire Chief. Once appointed, all personnel must maintain continuous certifications as a Georgia Fire Fighter and as a National Intermediate Emergency Medical Technician. While all qualified applicants are encouraged to apply, there is no appeal process for those applicants not selected.
